Postdoctoral Fellow
The Hermance laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of South 青涩直播 is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to lead multiple aspects of core laboratory projects examining tick-virus-host interactions. Essential job duties will include planning and executing laboratory experiments or projects related to: tick vector competency, intra-tick infection biology, and skin immunology at the tick feeding site. These projects involve tick-borne flaviviruses and bandaviruses, several of which must be manipulated within Biosafety Level-3 facilities. While experience working with ticks and/or virus is preferred, these skills are not required. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the training/mentoring of graduate student researchers and research technologists, and should therefore be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The individual will be expected to uphold a collaborative environment and possess strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills. Required qualifications: Ph.D. and research experience in microbiology, virology, immunology, vector biology, medical entomology, or a related field. To apply, please submit a CV, a letter (1 page or less) summarizing research interests and goals, and the contact information for three references to Meghan Hermance, Ph.D. at mhermance@southalabama.edu.
