Traditions FAQ for Fall 2025 and Beyond

Conveniently located across the street from the USA Recreation Center and Stanky Baseball Field, Traditions at South features apartments with a shared living room, a full-size kitchen, an in-unit washer and dryer, and individual private rooms with a personal bathroom for each resident. The community includes an in-ground pool with a lounging terrace, community-designated parking, a clubhouse with ping-pong and foosball, and a gathering area for community events, a computer lab, and an on-site package room. There are 2 bedrooms for 2, 3 bedrooms for 3, and 4 bedrooms for 4 room type options.

It is an exciting time for Jags to live on-campus with USA Housing! Students interested in living at Traditions at South are encouraged to log into their MyUSAHousing account and complete their Academic Year 2026-2027 housing application before the priority deadline of February 1, 2026.

鈻   Who is eligible to live in Traditions at South? 
Traditions at South is an on-campus housing option for USA upperclass undergraduate and graduate-level students. Undergraduates must be at least sophomore-level and have completed more than 30 academic credit hours. To be eligible for on-campus housing, a student must be enrolled at the University of South 青涩直播 in at least one (1) credit hour (including either in-person or online courses).
鈻   Can I take an in-person tour?

No, due to high occupancy, there are no model rooms available for touring at this time. Click here for photos and other media with additional VR tours coming soon!

鈻   How much will it cost?
Click here for current rates. Please note that the listed rates are subject to change based on approval by the USA Board of Trustees. Room rates include digital cable, ethernet & wireless internet access, all utilities (electricity, water/sewer, heat/air, garbage service, and pest control), housing and facilities staff available 24/7, apartment furnishings, pool access, on-site and package delivery.

鈻   Is my apartment for the entire Academic Year (Fall & Spring terms)?

Yes, the Academic Year 2026-2027 Housing application is for both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms. However, a small number of residents will need to change apartments in January 2027 based on the phased renovation schedule.

The apartments listed below will be available for occupancy for Fall 2026; however, for transparency and planning purposes, students living in these apartments must relocate to a different housing assignment in January 2027.

  • 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306
  • 400, 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406

The USA Housing team will work with each student individually for reassignment & relocation in early January 2027. Students will be reassigned to a renovated apartment but charged the unrenovated apartment rate. Impacted residents will also have the opportunity to move to a different residence hall if they so choose for the Spring 2027 term.

鈻   Am I required to purchase a meal plan?

No, residents living at Traditions at South will not be required to purchase a meal plan for the upcoming Academic Year 2026-2027. However, they may select any of the residential meal plans offered, regardless of classification, by choosing one when completing their housing application.

鈻   What type of parking pass do I need?

Traditions at South residents must purchase a Traditions parking permit. Traditions at South parking permit holders are able to park in white parking spaces around the Traditions complex.

Residents should NOT park in designated USA-staff parking spaces or in designated ADA parking spaces without the appropriate permit.

Additional Traditions at South parking is available across West Drive in the Traditions at South auxiliary parking lot. Both the parking lot surrounding the Traditions at South complex and the auxiliary parking lot require a Traditions at South parking permit.

鈻   Where can visitors park?

Visitors are not permitted to park in residential parking lots or Traditions at South parking lots during certain hours of the day - click here to review those restrictions and more information.

鈻   Will there be a JagTran stop?

Beginning Fall 2026, a JagTran stop will be added to the Clubhouse. More information on bus route and stop information will be released at a later date. 

鈻   Will summer housing be available?

USA Housing is currently completing phased renovations of the apartments. At this time, there are no plans to offer summer housing until after all renovation phases are completed.

鈻   Can I bring a pet?

The only pets permitted in University housing are harmless varieties of fish, other than as indicated Guide to Residential Student Living and Community Standards. No other pets are allowed on either a permanent or visitation basis (i.e., no cats, dogs, hamsters, reptiles, birds, rodents, amphibians, etc.).

Students who need the assistance of service or emotional support animals must register with the university鈥檚 Disabilities Office prior to the animal arriving on campus. Students with service animals or assistance (emotional support) animals will be required to follow the Center of Education Accessibility & Disability (CEADR) guidelines. Students will be held responsible for any damage caused by such animals.

Approved animals living on-campus for CEADR-approved related needs must follow all 鈥渙wner responsibilities鈥 outlined in the Service and Assistance Animal Policy. Failure to comply with the outlined 鈥渙wner responsibilities鈥 will result in a $100.00 fine and potential removal from on-campus housing for repeated occurrences.

鈻   Can I pick my own room and/or roommates?

Yes, all residents living on-campus with USA Housing who complete their housing applications by the priority housing selection deadline are eligible to self-select their room assignment during designated online room selection events. Residents can choose their preferred roommates by registering with our partnered roommate matching software, RoomSync.

鈻   Do I need renter鈥檚 insurance?

As noted in your housing contract, the University of South 青涩直播 does not assume any financial responsibility for the personal property of students. All students are strongly encouraged to obtain renters insurance, from a provider of their choosing, prior to move in. The University of South 青涩直播 has partners with , which offers a unique renter鈥檚 insurance program that has protected over 500,000 students nationwide.

鈻   Can I bring my own furniture?

Yes, residents can bring their own furniture. However, all residents are responsible for the loss of or damage to furniture and other equipment that is assigned to their room or apartment. Housing furniture must remain in the room in which it was originally placed. USA Housing does not have storage facilities for furniture. Residents must keep USA Housing furniture in their rooms at all times. Common area furniture is not permitted in the residents鈥 rooms. Residents who violate this standard may be subject to the Housing Student Conduct Process. Clothes, bikes, or personal items should not be hung from balconies, railings, roofs, and/or windows. Furniture is not permitted on balconies, stairways, or upper-floor walkways. Throwing, dropping, or pouring of anything from windows, balconies, ledges, and/or railings is prohibited.

鈻   What is my mailing address? Would I get a campus mailbox at the Student Center or a mailbox at Traditions?

 

Traditions at South residents will receive both mail & packages to the Clubhouse. Residents will NOT be assigned a mailbox at the USA Student Center Mail Hub.

Residents can view their mailing address online in their MyUSAHousing under 'Options'.

鈻   How will I access the Clubhouse, security gates, or other doors? 

Your assigned room key will allow you access to your apartment and community amenities.
